Volkswagen Concept: Bora 2 (Boracay Square)
Another beach cruiser, this Volkswagen Concept is based on a clapped out Type 3 Volkswagen Squareback. Instead of restoring the ugly front fenders, they are simply removed. The rusty rear fenders were also unceremoniously cut off altogether revealing the underlying sub structure. The entire roof was likewise cut off to be saved for a different surfwagen concept. The basis for Bora2 was then repaired and reinforced with a steel substructure that incorporate swing-upward doors, Lambo-style .
Inside, the cracked dash was thrown away and the dashboard just simply metal finished smooth. Aluminum cups on homebuilt stands house original gauges that serve as dashboard pods. Lightweight red MOMO seats and red fiberglass door and quarter panels house as well as hide and protect the speakers and amps connected via bluetooth to the drivers iPod. black MOMO steering wheel and shift knob makes driving enjoyable. Instead of carpeting, rubber floormats cover the fully waterproofed floor.
This Squareback is transformed into a pickup and instead of rear seats, Bora2s entire rear area is measured and fit with exquisite maple flooring, providing a long and flat space. Chrome strips protect the varnished wood while adding shine.
Chrome yellow is painted both in and out of the reinforced body. The doors are covered and framed in the same creamy maple veneer. The windshield frame, door and body tops also are custom fitted and shaped with maple strips. Chrome Buggy headlights are mounted low but house HiD hardware and at the rear, a solid strip of red LEDs provide brake and signal duty.
Power comes from an 1835, dual Weber 40-fed, motor that offer outstanding performance. Dual quiet packs mellow down the sounds to environmentally correct levels. Michelin radials and 17 inch Mahle rims are fitted expertly. Porsche trailing arms and brake upgrades allow massive Porsche brake upgrades. A custom tuned T3 beam with Koni adjustable shocks, front trailing arms and dropped spindles firm up the front end.
the formula works! nice one Dens.
